Good day for the Pokes.

A grade of C for Run Blocking is being very generous.

It’s not been good and it does make the Utah game seem more doubtful. Teams are packing the box and it’s been on Bowman to exploit the coverage. He did a great job against lesser competition and he was shaky and did just enough against Arkansas. He’s going to have to be on against Utah.

Teams do back off of the run once we throw on them, but we’re hesitant to go back to the ground once they do.

Experience on the line is great in pass protection, but the line isn’t physically dominant enough to get to the second level and thin out the 8 man boxes. Running outside is not what Ollie does best. He’s a hit the hole, one cut guy. He has been getting outrun on the edges.

C :joy: this guy didn’t watch the game.

If osu is going to have to rely on bowman to win the game against Utah then we lose.

Hey champ,

That’s essentially what happened against OU last year and we won. If he doesn’t get in his head, we can pull it off.

Ridiculous that we could not run the ball against Tulsa. We are not going to beat many good teams if we cannot run the ball and we will not win the conference. Couple that with us giving up big plays on D and it is not a winning combination.

If Utah’s QB is out then we have a good chance of beating them.

You lose any credibility you never had giving run blocking a C.

Well you all can argue talk pee in each others sandbox all you want. None of it matters. We have a showdown with Utah next week. That game is going to tells us a lot of what we want to know. Period!!!

Run blocking F. Defense B- or C+. How do they get an A with the way Tulsa gashed us early? If we don’t fix the run game this week, kiss Arlington goodbye. And Ollie can kiss New York goodbye too. He’s got to be banged up or something, because I swear he is NOT running as hard as he was last year.

Defense got a higher grade because they did not let Tulsa score in the first half. In fact, they didn’t let Tulsa score until the 4th quarter with many reserves in the game. Plays and yardage are nice but points and lack there of is what wins games.

That could be. Everyone wants to just dump the woes on the line, but there are times he definitely doesn’t look like he’s running with the same ferocity. It could be his high usage rate from last year catching up. NFL running backs tend to regress or get injured after years of high usage.
