Discourse has different levels of trust/interaction for users. You can read more about that below. Right now, our only groups are …
Editors (our staff)
PFB+ (PFB+ folks)
I would love to create 3-4 more groups based on trust level/participation. The problem? We need names (and possibly badges like the + or the maple leaf) for those 3-4 groups. Would love to hear suggestions based on how many good ones there were in trying to name this place.

In order:
Editors - Maple leaf
Sheriffs - OSU Badge - I like this because it requires mod promotion
Deputies - orange star - this fits as the ‘Regular’ category
Posse - lasso - Member
Council - PFB+/+ sign (as now) - PFB member
Townsfolk - everyone else - Basic
Seems pretty easy to me!

What are you thinking as far as criteria for each trust level? Time spent viewing? Number of posts? Number of likes received? Some type of combination?
From basic to the top of the mountain:
Gundy no visor
Gundy with visor
Gundy with visor + mullet
Gundy with visor + mullet in Carhartt

These are baked into Discourse (see link at the top).
Yep I literally read that… sometimes I wonder about myself…

As long as you’re thinking of me, that’s all that matters

Ok, I think I landed on this.
Staff w/ avatar
Moderator w/ avatar (invite only)
Captain w/ avatar (invite only)
Senior
Junior
Soph.
There’s a clear progression and rewards at each level. Everybody who is PFB+ also gets an avatar and will automatically be installed at junior level.

If you want to change your title go to preferences --> title.
Well all I know is today I got something called ‘captain’ and access to some kind of VIP Lounge? I want to know where this lounge is, and will I have access to small cocktail nuts, a continental breakfast that is put away by 8:15AM, an obstructed window view of the building’s air conditioning equipment on the rooftop below me and a TV permanently tuned to Fox News or CNN?

I’d like a group called Dizzy’s Dudes.

@marshall, Groups inherently have a definition of multiple participants baked into them. Otherwise, that’s just your title.

- Receiving at least 1 like
- Replying to at least 3 different topics
- Entering at least 20 topics
- Reading at least 100 posts
- Spend a total of 60 minutes reading posts
Get to Senior, in the last 100 days…
- Must have visited at least 50% of days
- Must have replied to at least 10 different topics
- Of topics created in the last 100 days, must have viewed 25% (capped at 500)
- Of posts created in the last 100 days, must have read 25% (capped at 20k)

So am I inherently lest trustworthy if I don’t use an avatar? Asking for a friend.
Edit… my friend doesn’t want to pay for expensive headshots like the Head Chimp or Eddy.
