The portal is a cancer that has fu*** the world of amateur sports. I despise it
This whole system sux!
GO POKES!!!
Man this is a tough topic. I dont think its as dramatic as you say…but I definitely think it came closer to breaking it than it did fixing it. Ill give you that. The game itself is as popular as its ever been. Numbers. Eyeballs. Money. Visibility. Its through the roof. Now, I know that its became a much more exclusive club to get in to. It went from Public Course to Private really quick. But, the portal has absolutely created more parity…in a sport that really doesnt have a ton of parity. I was a little/lot wrong on how I initially thought the portal would effect the game. I really thought it would strictly help the big boys. I didnt anticipate it effecting the depth charts (for the better) for the rest of the field. There was some poster on here that absolutely nailed it and I wasnt quite on board as he was. I cant remember the dudes name though.
Tech has spent 30 million I’ve heard. They are around 50/50 now to make the playoffs Barring an upset they will get in but I’m not seeing a bye yet. How long will schools keep trying to spend that much to make the playoffs ? To spend that much and still not able to be able to the level of around 8 BB ?
Someone wise, probably.

It wasn’t you. Unless this is your burner…..
I’m just saying they’re wise.
I went back and re-read some of it. He had some bad points. But absolutely nailed the “it will help spread the wealth”. I agreed that it would help spread the wealth, but not nearly to the extent that it has. Ill say I got that one wrong. Now, he also claimed that it was going to kill the sport and that college football was dying. He then disappeared. He sounds eerily familiar though to someone else one here under a different name… ![]()
Weird.
