Guess this confirms RAs reporting that Mestemaker is coming to OSU.
I wish him well. I’ll always wonder how the 2025 would’ve looked if Hejny played the whole year.

He will probably be one of the those 4 schools in 4 years kids…oh wait, 6 schools in 6 years, forgot he decided not to play when he wasn’t hurt.
Kids are grasshoppers these days, jumping from field to field. I don’t blame him, we probably can’t afford to pay two starting caliber QBs especially is Mestemaker is getting $7 million (over two years).
We were like 1-8 when he was healthy again. Why the hell would he waste a year of eligibility on a 1 win team with a fired coaching staff?

You do understand what a QB costs now-a-days, right? 3 Mil will be a fringe top 10 transfer portal number, and Metz is a top 10 portal QB. If we aren’t paying him 3m, then he likely ain’t coming to OSU.

I can believe this for a few reasons.
1.) You want to get him to agree quickly before other schools get involved by overpaying with a massive contract and OSU needs Mestemaker for stability amidst chaos and we have no other options.
2.) Looking at the other offers and targets that are coming up, I see a lot of “discount” options. Players from Kent St., FIU, D-II, Akron, unranked high school players, etc. There are a few other “big school” offers out there, but I could see us throwing the bulk of our money at Morris’s core group and filling out the rest of the roster with cheaper upside guys.
Like I said…..Mestemaker isn’t getting 3.5 million from OSU. These numbers get inflated & for you people to think the Cowboys ponies up 3.5…….fish story.
You guys don’t understand how these work. Mestemaker is indeed a top 10 portal QB. But there is no chance that he made OSU pay him 3.5 million. The numbers that get floated out are always inflated.
The difference is coaching. Morris isn’t just going after guys from the G5 or D2 that are above average at best. He’s going after guys that actually produced during the season. Maybe they are cheaper upside guys. However, I don’t see Morris losing to Tulsa or getting beat 69-3 next season. We have a guy now that’ll actually care about trying. Not a guy that’s already made 100 million and gives Weiberg a middle finger.

Who is talking about “the difference”? First of all, the biggest difference is your denial. Second of all, I wasn’t talking about that. I’m just observing and speculating about what’s happening. You’re the one that needs to find “the difference”. I do not care. I like the strategy.

Bill Haisten is reporting 3.5 for year one and 4 for year two. He’s saying it’s all from one donor from OKC. I’m guessing it’s Chad Richinson.

I was at dinner tonight with a guy who would absolutely know…..& he confirmed it for me.
