‘He took the initiative to get his weight down and to get in great shape.’

If you have an automatic qualifier in Young why would you replace him and jeopardize the opportunity for representation in the 149 weight class.

No guarantee Young finishes 5th or better and advances. Coaches see what is going on in practice and there was likely wrestle offs. Carter has been trending down and would likely go 0-2 at Nationals.

That’s exactly right. Carter would most likely score no pts if he qualified. He has been the only weak link in the lineup. He would be wise to enter the portal. I seriously doubt if we ever see him in an orange singlet again. Is Tagen fully recovered from whatever injury he suffered to his knee or leg during his last match?
I enjoy listening to DT media Q§A but I miss John Smith’s willingness to be as open as possible with his answers. DT seems to prefer to hold his cards close to his chest. So I appreciate that he did admit one reason not to wrestle Witcraft was in order to preserve his ranking. But DT is not used to local media wanting to know what goes on in his thinking. I assume he will become more open as time goes on.
