Well that last few minutes of the half was a disaster. Why does Lutz refuse to use timeouts as the lead dwindles down to a possession or two??
BANG. That is what we needed but man that TCU lost realllllly hurts now.
I’m not seeing the recap or five thoughts threads, so I’ll post it here. Paywall? Anyway…
Huge win! Our energy has never been better with defense and rebounding! Our guards were so good with the pressure late, and Curry perhaps played his best minutes of the season. Parsa seemed to get his touch back. VJ really stepped up big and was a major reason for the win. I was so glad to see that. Roy was great with the first half surge and big when we needed him in the second.
The CC resurgence continues!
And Lefty’s back!! His shot is clearly rusty but it’s huge to have him on court with his skill and size.
Now, a couple of nits to pick but only one is about the team:
- If we’re just a little better with FTs, there’s no stress at the end of the game whatsoever.
- As great as our fans were, and they were pretty elite throughout, the “overrated” chant is so incredibly stupid. Just take one second to think about it, and you’ll realize that you’re minimizing the win by calling the very good team you just beat “overrated”. So. Dumb.
Also, I think storming the court is a bit much for the #16 team, but it looked like the guys were enjoying it, so whatever lol.
