First toilet paper, now this.
Yes!
I love watching the RLCS (Car soccer). Rainbow 6 Siege and PubG World Cup were a lot of fun as well.
What’s your Summoner name @marshall??
I was never a big gamer, but my friends in college were. I truly don’t understand people doing something willingly, watching other people play video games, that I was forced to do.
Certainly can tell by the first few hot takes articles there are zero grey hairs on the PFB writers staff.
Are they athletes? No. but then, gamers’ bodies won’t be falling apart by the time they are 30. It’s a form of competitive entertainment that doesn’t carry the stigma of CTE or PEDs. Although things like adderall could see some play there. Just like at some point people were told you can’t make money playing (insert a sport name here), those of us of a certain age heard the same thing about video games, and yet, here we are. The gamers at the top have elite skills that 99% of gamers can only dream about, just like athletics. This is more of a luke-warm take.
If you are ever in downtown Dallas, come by the Team Envy HQ and I’ll give you a tour
I remember watching envy in black ops 2 tournaments in 2012. Grew out competitive gaming since call of duty has sucked since though.
What would the first grey haired PFB writer drop a hot take on?
I honestly haven’t played in like two years. Don’t have the time for it. All I do is watch now. I’m supposed to get a new laptop soon and when I do, I hope to get back into playing a little.
It’s the same reason people watch other people play sports.
I’d love to. The first esport I started watching was Call of Duty back in Black Ops I.
Oh ok cool! I’ve played on and off since 2009. I thought I had quit for good a couple years ago but I was finally drawn back in again recently. My summoner is “InChristsName” if you ever get on again or if you wanna hit me up for a Worlds watch party, haha.
Correlation =/= Causation
Minivans provide ten times the utility of any sport “utility” vehicle.
If you ever have the spare time, money, and the desire to still play games I recommend building a desktop. I just recently built one for other reason but I use it to game and I get so much smoother game play with it than my laptop for like $600 less.
You should do this @marshall
I have the grandest of Caravans and second that!
