How Oklahoma State’s Best Defenders Stack Up with Big 12

A look at how OSU’s defenders stack up against their Big 12 counterparts.

I love seeing articles about the defense because for me, how well the defense performs will ultimately determine what type of season we have in the fall (I’m operating under the assumption that the offense should be fine).

It’s also why I’m leaning more toward 6-7 wins for this upcoming season. Again, I think the offense will be fine, but too many unknowns on the defense for my taste.

You did not mention Wendall Gregory! I guess why wasn’t he mentioned and how would his numbers have stacked up?

Wendell Gregory is with K State now.

I know he transferred to Kansas State but having his production numbers now at K-State how would would they stack up to the rest of the conference.

I am going out on a limb and saying we are going to win 8 games. If the QB can replicate last year or even come close, then we will put a lot of points on the board and our defense should be better than last year for sure. I think it is possible, especially if we do not have any significant injuries.

Either way, it should be a fun season.

A few starters that transferred from NT will start. A few holdovers from last years team will start. The rest will be transfers (some of whom were recruited by oSu under Gundy) that are for the most part upgrades from many that departed or at least equivalent: thinking about that young man from FSU and the young man from Louisville. Players from TT and KSU.

These guys will be on the same page and working under a coherent group of coaches that came from NT - expect it to come together by WVU or Houston (it took most of the year for Ryan’s 46 because it was so complicated). The overall talent is better than at NT. The depth is much improved over NT. There are some players that bear watching - thinking about the DT and DB from Udub (UW).

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I’m alittle more optimistic about this team. I think the offense can mask some defensive issues. A lot of continuity coming back and most teams are not as the portal wreaks havoc. Also it’s the big twelve lol. Very good chance this team could find itself in the playoffs. If they do I’m not sure they can win two games but who knows.
