Really hope we can get some reps distributed to our guys . Zane is going to need some just to round out our qb room and be prepared.
Kinda makes you wonder how much closer he might be had there not been a coaches son in the QB room taking reps away from others. Sorry to be harsh but I can’t get past the fact they had a 3 way battle and one couldn’t find a job on another D1 program. This article means nothing if he isn’t going to play. If he’s ready, bigger, smarter, blah blah then Mason Rudolph him and let’s go. If he is close enough to Bowman, then AB can back him up. I’d be willing to bet Flores can throw 15 TDs and 14 INTs too.

Say what you want about Gunnar, but he had slightly better stats than other 2 after 3 games and his points per drive was easily the best.

Yet even the coaches didn’t think he was good enough. He leaves for one school and then drops a division. The facts remain that if he was good enough it would have been Rangel who transferred out.

I think you’re missing my point. I’m referencing this to show that Gunnar took reps away from other guys. Flores may have gotten more reps and could be further along.

Almost wonder if he’s actually better than Bowman. We do have a tendency in the past to bench the best QB on the roster.

Flores was not going play last year. Most freshman are not even close to ready to play. Gunnar did not take away any snaps from anyone. How trivial.

We don’t know. He finished his first year with 4 TDs and 5 interceptions

Nobody said Flores was going to play. Try to follow along. Without Gunnar in the QB room, more practice reps would have gone to Flores. If Flores was getting more of those reps, he could be further along.
Imho, Gunnar had no business being at Ok State playing QB. Period. Go watch the KSU game. His hands were shaking waiting for the snaps. If you wanna get this program to championship level year in and out, Gunnar never gets recruited for Ok State. Think about it. He had only one other D1 offer and it wasn’t a power 5. Once again if he was good enough he wouldn’t be at Emporia State. He would have stayed and Rangel would have left.

Let me add to this. Redshirts can play some and still redshirt. So if Gunnar was not there, you could have possibly gotten Flores in a couple series of some games to get him some game time experience. Since the coach says that’s all he is lacking now.
Gunnar was a walk-on player. There are lots of walk-ons that never play much impactful time, try to follow along here. Your whole theory about Flores being further along is just a bunch of nonsense. You are talking about him being recruited, he was a walk-on. Flores has gotten plenty of snaps in between the last year’s regular season and bowl season, back up qbs get plenty of snaps. Spring practice he got plenty of snaps. This summer he had opportunities on 7 on 7. Thinking that he would have had all this valuable experience is just a smokescreen to jag at Gundy. Shut up loser.
