‘He was very inexpensive.’
He did have a great game. Of all the issues the defense has he definitely wasn’t one of them.
Just a question (don’t go crazy on me): did Josh Ford play any DE at Stillwater High School?
I think he did
Better then your game
This is why Gundy is borderline irreplaceable. NIL just exasperates issues we have, but this is why our strength and conditioning coach is making a mint. We’re grabbing the Leon Johnsons and Ezeigbos and building them up. Recruiting to a school with less history in an unexciting location (at least in perception) was always hard and we never budgeted enough to be competitive, but now it’s a literal accounting issue. We’re essentially operating with a smaller salary cap.
Clever scouting of overlooked 3* high school players and Div II and Div III standouts combined with intense player development is how we’re going to thrive. I said Gundy is borderline irreplaceable. He can pass this on if he appoints a successor or Weiberg is going to have to make sure the next guy can do this well. Ezeigbo was a big part of our turnaround on Saturday. He and Martin coming off the edge was nasty. We didn’t turn into a shutdown defense, but we slowed the bleeding enough to overcome. Some of these overlooked guys can play, but maybe they went to a high school that was too small to develop them or get them noticed against tough competition. We have to shop for value.
That said, I hate the NIL era, but we have a strategy to succeed.
You’re probably right .
So what’s your definition of “thrive” if you don’t mind me asking?
Hey champ,
I’m not cueing one of your four NPC phrases.
It’s okay if you don’t know.
Hey champ,
Not only do I know what I mean, but I know what you’re going to say. You’re predictable because you only have four lines.
For instance, I know your only possible response to that statement is to get defensive and say something like, “not as predictable as Kasey Dunn’s redzone offense”. You’re an obsessive monomaniac and you’re just here now to ruin everyone else’s discussion on a fan page.
So what was I going to say then?
Hey champ,
Some oversimplification about how many conference titles, blah blah, being content with the Alamo Bowl, blah blah, bring up some bad loss and make some illogical extrapolation about being worse than Ohio, blah blah, new era of college football, blah blah, worried about going back to Bob Simmons era, blah blah…
You only say four things, NPC. You can keep tapping A, but you’re just going to cycle through the same dialogue. You’re a troll-shaped pullstring doll. I’d call you pathetic, but this will trigger your “not as pathetic as being happy with a 9 win season and a bowl no one cares about” dialogue option.
So you’re like Michael and Robert then? Just make sure you make a bowl game and finish with a 7-6 record while giving your coaches top 20 pay or better. Thanks for at least letting me know what position you hold .
Hey champ,
I didn’t say anything. I just said what you would say, and without even my half of the dialogue, you still said it.
Please. Take a look in the mirror. Look at the man staring back at you. Take some stock of your life. You’re not even a real person; you are a caraciture.
Your thought is probably to turn this into something about Gundy (or another coach) doing this, or about a strawman fan doing this in reference to Gundy. Such is your pullstring thought process. Let it go.
Whole heartily agree. Based on what HCMG said at his presser it seems that things are likely to get worse before they get better. If the Judge doesn’t sign off on the deal then unrestricted pay for play is going to continue for the foreseeable future. With the B10 and SEC teams making substantially more dollars than the rest of the college football teams the talent chasm between them is going to grow exponentially in favor of the B10/SEC. Something needs to be done about this and done soon.
You don’t need to say much. I can already tell you still think it’s 2006.
Hey champ,
Get back to the snake in my boot line.
Why does gundy never give credit where it’s due when it comes from a less experience guy? What’s up with that chit? Just by listening to him you would think this guy couldn’t hold Oliver’s jock strap because he’s inexperienced. Hey gundy you idiot! This guy had 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 1 quarterback hurry in one half!!! I’m sorry gundy what did you say againg? He’s not in Oliver’s category? He’s too inexperienced? Our coach is an idiot. Brings me back to what Iv always said about why gundy will never be a championship winning coach and that is he will never play an freshman or an inexperience player over a less talented kid with experience or and that is not a freshmen because he’s too stupid and hard headed. Retire gundy!!!
