If we could kick a PAT or a chip shot FG, we win the game – in spite of the ridiculous play-calling and in spite of the slew of injuries.
I’m unhappy as well but the word for the 2020 season is INJURIES!! How many teams would have a winning record with the number and severity of the injuries that have been suffered this year. Also, Sanders is a great guy, from what I can tell, but a mediocre QB.
We were +4 TURNOVERS AND WE DIDN’T WIN!
The key words are GET RID OF GUNDY. This dude can’t win even with a fully healthy team. He’s proven it every since 2011. What else needs to be shown to you?
I’m so thankful that a larger percentage of our posters here are seeing the truth: GUNDY NEEDS TO GO!!! Immediately!!! When my own dad is agreeing with me that the playcalling was atrocious, that to me speaks volumes. Dunn needs to go too. It’s obvious I was wrong about Dunn being fit for OC. He’s learning on the job just like Gleason and Yurcich. He’s got Gundy dictating what to run just like them too. I’m beyond livid. Again. Just like I was against Texas, and Bedlam. And I’m sick of being angry like this EVERY ■■■■ SEASON!!! The beginning of the end was Bedlam 2013. From that point forward, Gundy gave up on ever winning another championship. That’s unacceptable. His mediocrity can’t continue to be tolerated. The BOR and AD desperately need to act.
I don’t want to hear a f***ing word from Robert. His rambling incoherent bullshit can’t possibly defend Gundy as head coach any longer. Not to mention, he only shows up after wins anyway. I watched every single snap today, growing more frustrated by the minute. Frustrated with Spencer’s lack of improvement and development, frustrated by Tylan’s injury, frustrated by the absence of creativity or balls with playcalling,…just all of it. So sick of this. Oklahoma State University football needs to clean house from top to bottom. Immediately. I don’t give a ■■■■ what the COVID finances tell you. Find a way to buy Gundy out and do it now. If not, attendance WILL DROP. Massively. Because under Gundy, this isn’t getting any better. We’re actually getting worse as a program. Have been for the past 6 years. Maybe today’s result will wake a few more of you up.
Seems to me that Gundy has hit whatever point Mack Brown hit at UT. I do think there is a good coach inside of Mike Gundy, but he has clearly gotten complacent and the program has stagnated. I would prefer to make a change now when the program is on relatively solid footing. It is a much more attractive job now than it will be if the program devolves into a dumpster fire (see Tennessee, Arkansas, etc.).
Truth…and finally a reasonable reaction.
I’ve been a Gundy apologist as well, but man! The play calling was so predictable, even when we had some momentum on turnovers. All the runs on 1st and 2nd. It is like his favorite play is 3rd and 5, where he must think the odds are completely in his favor.
One of the most conservative games I have ever seen on play calling. Your defense fought and scraped and did everything it could, playing their hearts out and even scoring a TD, and the best Gundy and Dunn can come up with is 15 points?! 5 turnovers, and you dont score on any of them?!
Gundy has become comfortable, complacent, coasting to retirement. This is no longer excusable. We went from having Holgerson and Monken who were not afraid to tell Gundy to sit down and shut up while they handled the offense to a series of Gundy loyalist “yes” men and I am certain now that Gundy wouldn’t have it any other way. He is becoming the Jerry Jones of college football and its infuriating to watch in real time.
Reading through the comments. The consensus is a coaching change is needed NOW. Who do you replace Gundy with that is a proven winner? I’m just asking. Holder is in the last year of his contract. No word on him continuing as AD. Do you bring in a new HC and staff before you have a new AD? Or vice versa. Food for thought and much heated discussion.
I guess it depends on what your version of a proven winner is. Is it a coach that’s 2-14 against his in-state rival? A coach that can’t cement his team as the #2 program in the Big 12 with Texas being down the last decade? A coach that plays conservative and down to the level of his competition?
Gundy was successful from 2005-2011 because he hired the right assistants and they had no problem telling him to go pound sand. Gundy has went to a philosophy of believing he is a better coach than he really is. The stagnation has been a result of that.
You go after a younger successful coach that motivates his players and doesn’t let his ego control the entire team or coaching staff.
Robert must be really struggling to come up with a few halfway coherent sentences.
Joe, I’m not arguing I’m asking. I’m definitely not a Gundy yes man. It has been frustrating watching this year with the proven talent we have. I bleed Orange with the best of them. I just don’t want to follow the Texas blueprint since Mack was let go. Nothing in the future is guaranteed but Holder or the next AD need to have a plan in place and find the next coach that will improve recruiting, not play conservative and leads to always COMPETING for the Big 12 Championship and hopefully the CFP just like that place 90 miles south on I-35.
That’s an everyday thing. His sentence structure and our points per drive look about the same…like sh*t.
His pisspoor writing skills make it look he went to school in Norman.
Gundy is not a good football coach. He’s just not
in my opinion we have entered an OSU sports nuclear winter period. What ever happens coaching or player wise we are done for for at least the next 5 years. Hope you enjoy the next 5 years of loosing seasons and BS bowl games.
I meant minor bowl games
As far as who do we replace Gundy with? Well does it matter? worse we can get is a bunch of losers which is what we have already have
Ask the Texas, Michigan, USC, Florida State fans and boosters if it matters who the next coach is. Ask all of the Cowboys fans that wanted Travis Ford gone. Hell yes it matters. I’m just looking for suggestions.
