Gundy has had 3 seasons with a losing record in big 12 out of 16 yrs. Boynton has 3 already. I know u hate Gundy but u may not compare the two.
The Gundy equivalent in basketball would be a coach who goes to the NCAA Tournament every year, the Sweet 16 every 3-4 years, and never beats KU or wins championships. Boynton is not even close to that level.
I am not defending Gundy or saying that his performance is acceptable in any way, but it is one million times better than Boyntonās in a sport where OSU has historically been much weaker.
Boynton hasnāt been at OSU for 16 years. So we donāt know as of yet how many conference titles he may win. Iām just saying if your going to compare the two then donāt be a hypocrite about it but fair at the minimum.
Ur comparing the two. U bought up Gundy on this bb post, I was just keeping u in line about boynton.
Yeah but you praise Gundy and bash Boynton. Weāve had plenty of time to see the body of work under Gundy and we know what weāll get with him. We havenāt seen a lot from Boynton coached teams or recruits yet.
So itās fair to compare a coach thatās been around for 16 seasons to a coach thatās just started his 4th season?
The only thing I know about OU football is that they have better coaches and talent. Apparently Gundy hasnāt gotten the memo yet because he still coaches against them like heās the better coach and program.
Ur the one started comparing the two. If itās not fair then u should not have done it. Like I said I like boynton but he has to start winning.
This is about the 10th basketball thread that YOU have hijacked by comparing Boynton to Gundy.
Okay Iāll stop. How about we compare seasons then. Is it right to compare someone with 16 seasons with someone thatās just started their 4th.
Three full seasons is plenty of time to evaluate a basketball coachās abilities and performance. Good coaches do not take long to show results. Look at what Chris Beard did at Tech. This idea that Boynton needs four full years before we can evaluate him is insane. With the exception of Cunningham, he is not bringing in much better talent than the players he inherited (and did nothing with). He took over a program that went to the Tournament 4 out of the previous 5 years and proceeded to miss 3 straight.
In football there are 130 teams and 80 go to bowls.
In basketball there are 357 teams and 68 go to the tournament.
Great comparison!
Really how many of the 357 have a real chance. 250 of them have to win the con champ. All he has to do is go 9-7 or sometimes 8-8. In conf. U always make things seem so one sided. Iām not asking for con champ just a winning record. So it is a great comparison unless u are rooting for oru.
Itās a piss poor comparison anyway you look at it.
I Think u guys like joe ar1 jeff open pandora box compare ( bitching) gundy to boynton. U cannt compare bb to fb in anyway. So the best thing keep crying about Gundy on the fb post.
I just think comparing going to a bowl where 61% of the teams do, as to going to the NCAA tournament where 19% go. Is a extraordinary bad comparison.
Now if you want to compare going to the tournament to finishing in the top 25. Iām. there.
U compare what u want. I said they are two different system. I have talked about u comparing apples and oranges in past post. And ur still doing it. If boynton wants to go dancing just win in conf. Donāt have to worry about the other 354
If Gundy wants to go to conference championship game, he better buy a ticket cause heās proven he canāt win the conference.

Thatās a lie he has won
For joe, leach has had his 3rd decommits.
