The Cowboys succumbed to a TCU rally, end their trip to Kansas City 1-1.

This is the third time that we crumbled late against TCU when it comes to defense and rebounding. And it’s a shame because we really looked like a different team on both fronts for good portions of both these games.

Another year gone and another long wait to see if we have a better team next season.

I’ve observed that most good teams have assholes for coaches. Nice guys don’t seem to do as well. I am hoping Lutz comes back a changed man next year. Just musing…

Could be something to that… trying to get through to teenagers with a million dollar bank account might not lend itself to being a “player’s coach”. You might need an intense streak that can shake them up. I don’t know, but I will say this: I am so tired of hearing about how nice these guys are when talking about if they need to be fired. Every Mike Boynton conversation was, “he’s a great guy, but…”. Don’t care. How is he performing? Their demeanor does not need to be part of the discussion unless they’re like abusing the students.

This is fair. And I kept hearing Fran talking about how Lutz said that he’s maybe gone too easy on the team for their defense. If that’s true, then I appreciate the self awareness and I hope it results in change.

I know it’s WAY early, but - what’s this team going to look like next season? Are we going portal heavy AGAIN? Who all MIGHT stay, etc. Love to see a rundown…

In December we signed three top recruits and I thought some recruiting service ranked this class #2 in the nation. Rivsls has it at18, so we’ll see. What I see watching OSU play this year is a lot of one on one for our offense and poor defense on the other end. I’m willing to give Lutz a pass for at least 2 more seasons instead of the just fire him and start from scratch strategy.

Lutz should get 4 years unless next year is just a pathetically disgusting season. This is his first real year since he came in so late last year.

We have to suffer another year I think. His seat would be scorching hot and would need to be fired if he doesn’t make the tournament in year four and we start this never ending cycle of misery again.

If we’re at least a legitimate bubble team next year, ok, give him a year four, but if there’s no forward momentum, I say we call it and move on. We have to still be on the upswing. It’s too early to be up and down. At least some steady progress, even if it’s slow, is enough.

He will get atleast 4 years. Football cost a lot of money these days lol
