The Cowboys ran into a little too much Hilton magic.
All thing considered, it could’ve been worse ![]()
I honestly thought we looked like a tourny team in the first half. I expected ISU to make adjustments and pull away in the second half. But we still kept it interesting with a few minutes left. We just needed better decision making and rebounding in the second half to have a chance to win.
There’s no more moral victories, but I saw some really encouraging signs if we can just be healthy!
This was actually a very encouraging game. They played real pressure defense, for most of the first half and some of the second. It was in the early part of the second half that they went somewhat dormant on defense and let them build a lead that held.
No one wants to read about “moral victories”, but what I would say is that this game is not that, but rather a real indicator that they might actually be “getting it” now on defense, and could run off some wins that they might not have otherwise. Also, playing a top-five team on the road in front of a hostile crowd and coming this close to winning might parlay into some wins against lesser competition.
