A look at where analysts are projecting the Pokes heading into the draft.

Wasting talent because we decided to hold onto bad coaching for too long.

If this turns out right, having 5 (or more) NFL caliber draft picks and still not winning a single game in conference is a pretty damning narrative of the coaching at OSU.

Two of those five (who were our two best players on defense) missed the majority of the season… getting a grade of 6th or 7th rounder isn’t especially likely to get drafted, so three or four of them are likely to be UDFA. I think it’s a stretch to say, “look at all of the talent we wasted” instead of “losing two NFL caliber defenders exacerbated our issues”. So, really, of the people that played all of last season and who will get drafted, Ollie might be alone. Maybe Ollie and Korie.

I hope they all get drafted and make rosters and have great careers, though.

As critical as I am about the program currently, this is the right take.

I think the biggest takeaway is how bad I feel for Ollie Gordon. He lost way more in initial contract salary than he made this past year in NIL. This year’s draft class has tons of RBs that are rated mid-round level. Hopefully, the Saquon Effect gets more teams to invest draft capital in the position than has been the recent trend.

Even if we were missing two really good players. It still means the coaching was absolutely horrendous. It would mean we basically still returned 16-17 starters for the season from a 10-win team a year ago, and didn’t win a single conference game :man_shrugging:.

How TF do you go all the way to the Big 12 Championship Game, and then not win a single conference game the next season with practically the same team? It’s most definitely a coaching issue, and it’s the reason 95% of those clowns are gone thanks to the BoR. You’re starting to sound like Robert28.
