‘There’s a blueprint to do it now. Is it easy? Hell no.’

I said during the 2024 season, that if Gundy didn’t turn this around, and was eventually fired. OSU would go find a coach that would replicate the Cignetti path. I was told we had no money and it wouldn’t happen. The best years of OSU football were behind us. I was called a hopeful fool. Because nobody thought anyone would be better than Gundy.

Well….here we are. Now with the #7 transfer portal class, donor commitment, and a young coach that’s not scared to death to play young talent or try to win the conference. It’s been 14+ years since OSU has won the conference. In that time there have been nine different Big 12 coaches that have won the conference. Fans, donors, and alums were sick of the excuses, and now have a renewed hope :+1:

There are people that HATE the state of college football. Its similar to my favorite breakfast meat. Everybody loves the sausage. But nobody likes the way that its made. The portal sucks. NIL sucks. But no one can argue that the current door is more wide open for the “outsiders” than it has ever been. That has given the Indianas, Ole Miss’s, Texas Techs of the world an invite to the party. Its also given teams that fire a legendary coach after consecutive winless conf seasons a chance at an instant turnaround. The fans in Stillwater can hate the portal as I do, but without it, the upcoming season would be mush, mush more gloomy.

Also, there were a couple of posters on here saying the college football sky would be falling. The ratings for the Nat Champ game were through the roof. Its not going anywhere but up.
