A fun look down memory lane.
Should’ve never let Sean go. Definitely not Underwood.
Didn’t really have a choice. Arrested for DUI. Overdosed on level 1 narcotics for back pain.
I don’t consider the path after Eddie much fun TBH
Why? We hired his alcoholic dad. I personally think 20 years of crappy basketball has brought more shame on the school than giving a guy a second chance would have. There’s no law that says you have to fire someone if they have off court demons.
We couldn’t do a second chance for Sean BECAUSE his dad had already been busted. Not to mention, OSU hiring Eddie at all back in 1990 was a second chance of sorts as he’d been busted for recruiting violations at Kentucky.
Correct. It’s been more sad than happy.
Travis you sure you have your story straight,? I BB thought Sean was arrested for accepting a marked package of opioids ?
It took him about 3 years before he got back into basketball. Dickey took him at Tech ?
Eddie had been in sobriety until his back got to hurting so bad. Course an addict always has an excuse
If Sean stays straight I don’t think we ever miss much of a beat
I think Holder was just looking for a reason to fire him, honestly.
I could be wrong on the timeline, but either way, the Sutton era was dead and gone the minute Ford was hired.
Getting rid of Sean was better for Sean personally, and that’s not a bad thing.
Pretty crazy that a P5 team with 22 wins could be left out of the NCAA tournament. That’s wild.
I know Holder didn’t like Eddie
Correct. I think he was more than happy to have a reason to let Sean go. Yeah, that’s on Sean, but Holder destroyed this program. I know Sean wasn’t setting the world on fire right out of the gate, but the trajectory of OSU basketball when Sean got fired vs. when Ford got fired are so completely disparate, it gets my blood boiling.
