Congratulations for Dee Mitchell. Shows that stepping up 3 years ago and working hard, doing the right thing for himself and his family pays off. That Coach and the team made such a deal about it shows how much they all care for each other and OSU. Proud to be a Cowboy.

Congrats to Dee! He has more than earned it! Hopefully, his story inspires others. Huge shout out to Coach Mike for making a young man’s dream come true. Every so often, we get a story like this to show us that college sports aren’t just “big business” and that the term “student-athlete” isn’t quite extinct.

There is just NOTHING cooler than these things! As a guy who’s put 2 kids and is in the process of putting himself (back) through college…this is SO massive for a kid! I think these STUDENT-athletes who receive schollys during their tenure are the ones we should applaud as loudly as the “one-and-dones.” These kids really grasp how stinking valuable that scholarship is! Many of these superstar kids have schollys thrown at them and have no value assessed to them. Dee GETS IT!! Congrats, young man! You’re proof for us regular guys: hard work pays off! Glad to have you as a Poke!
