And I can’t handle it.
“…said Gundy. “When Tyreek was here, Yurcich did a good job of getting him the ball different ways.”
Tyreek may have gotten the ball in different ways, but he was criminally underused. Not one game with 20 touches on offense. If Presley is Tyreek 2.0, let’s hope Gleeson figures out what Yurcich could not.
I’m excited to potentially have a dynamic punt and kick returner.
Well said. Anyone who watched the games could not argue that point of misuse of great talent.
My concern with this kid is his small stature which may not translate into continued great success at the college level. I guess that is where coach Glass comes in to do his magic during the redshirt year. But do they have a stretching machine for added height?
You beat me to it. Had the quote copied and ready to paste. But I’ll beat the dead horse anyways:

“When Tyreek was here, Yucich did a good job of getting him the ball different ways.”
The NFL coaches figured out how to use him. Why didn’t Mike and Mike?
Welcome. Hate to put a rebuttal to a newcomer but ever heard of Darren Sproles. He gave it to us all the time and has done the same in the NFL as a very undersized guy. Tyler Lockett ring a bell? People underestimate heart and overestimate size. Presley will get bigger, and I think he’ll be fantastic as a slot guy.
But Gundy should have NEVER compared him to Tyreek, how doofy is that?! Don’t put that kind of pressure on a kid. He deserves a burr haircut for that.
My interpretation of what Gundy is saying is that he compares to Tyreek not in skill level, but compares to Tyreek in the number of different positions he has excelled at. Let us hope that the coaches now can finally excel at finding the correct way to maximize this kid’s talents. I am in grief over the loss of Kasey Dunn. How do they replace that? Please Gundy, do not go searching for small school coaches. Please think big this time.
Not quite so fast. In 12 games during the 2014 season Tyreek touched the ball 190 times, including 57 kickoff and punt returns (he did both), an average of 16 touches per game. Many of those returns were long ones which meant he often took a play or two off on offense to take a breather. I’m thinking if you wanted him to have 20+ touches on offense, then you needed to cut back on returns. On the other hand, getting the ball in the open field with some room is where he was most effective.
To say that he was “criminally” under used is a stretch.
He was the most electrifying weapon on the field BY FAR, yet had fewer catches than David Glidden because he was the 2nd string RB.
He had 133 offensive touches, but it should have been 102 receptions and 31 rushes instead of the other way around.
He was criminally underused because he was the 4th option on offense, and criminally misused because Gundy and Yurcich thought he was a tailback.
