I’m trying to figure out how this board works…
Does it assign my “handle” or can I edit that?
It might have given you something as a default but you can change it and your profile picture
It appears when I try to change it, it says its already in use. I probably some time ago created an account under that name, so now I have 2 ID’s…
I guess I need to figure out what the password is on my “original” login and try to get that working.

You’re welcome. If you know what email address you used you should be able to reset the password and get i to the account.
