National Signing Day Live: Updates on Who Signs in Oklahoma State’s 2026 Class

Let’s have a day.

Hopefully there’s some pleasant surprises.

We all knew this was going to be a rough early signing day (really no chance at 4*), but I like that Coach Morris is finding little pieces to the puzzle. We all know it’s going to come down to how many (and who) of his current players follow him. I love that most of UNT’s studs are underclassmen.

Where the heck did these guys come from? He flipped multiple guys from UNT, seemingly today! Feel bad for the mean green though. Hopefully Neal Brown had some guys he could bring to Denton with him

It’s nothing to get overly excited about, but with the classes Gundy had, it can’t be worse for starters. Honestly, signing recruits is as overrated as marrying an actor like Rosie O’Donnell.
It means very little futurewise.
The TP is what to pay attention to these days. Commitments are non-committal.
So, this first year is probably not going to be us challenging for the Big 12 conference. The second year is where I see Morris really taking off and getting us back to a very competitive level.
Still, we can’t get any worse than the last two years, so…..GO POKES!!

" signing recruits is as overrated…" Boy this is dumb. Let me ask you a question. Does OSU have a better chance signing a good player out of HS? Or one that is a good player in the portal? The really good portal players have a higher price tag than what OSU will want to pay. OSU’s best formula is overpaying for a HS kid and hoping you hit on him. You then hope you get a “hometown” discount. HS recruiting is where you build your depth, which is what spearates you from being a flash in the pan to one that has some solid footing. You also have a very, very small window to recruit a portal guy. You can build relationships with a HS player over many months, even years.

“There’s a new Bowman in town.” My old ass went straight to Adarius. Kids these days have no idea how good this dude was.

Adarius Bowman, Kendall Hunter, ZRob, Dantrell Savage, Dez - good times…

Disappointed oSu couldn’t flip the Santa Fe kid…

Along with keeping a solid core of players this year including dudes like Wendell, etc. and the jucos playing as predicted, it looks as if the Portal’s gonna be key to any success next year. Dudes needed!

After the dust settles from this signing - what does oSu need to be relevant? A dude in the middle of the DL and he cannot get hurt like at tt…

What is TP?

For those who would like another hub of information, I am keeping up to date lists of player and coaching personnel on a google sheet.
If anyone spots any errors or wants a section added, feel free to reach out

I believe I know how this response appeared but it did not come from me! I am sorry for what appeared as mine - please except my apologies as it was hatful and wrong Your posts never show partiality and are always honest and common sense like this last post.

Transfer Portal

Question for PFB gumshoes:

In the Murti article he talked about taking advantage of the rules…not bending, but utilizing them…

The NCAA still has “scholarship” limits. However, do some of these NIL-laden portal signees even count as a scholarship? Can’t they “pay” their tuition and fees and, for all intents and purposes, be a heavily compensated walk-on that doesn’t chew up a scholarship?

Ahh there it is. The old “well, he roots for OU so he clearly is a moron”, even though ive been on this site for about 5 years and have never trolled OSU or spouted OU propoganda. Thats the biggest sign of being a snowflake…

There is some nuance to this, but all NIL deals must be cleared through your compliance dept. And part of that is that you have to be a scholarship player to receive the NIL benefits. The services being rendered and the company/entity that you are being paid for, have to be cleared. You cant wear OSU gear while endorsing Chicos Boom Boom Room or something. You also cant just be given a check and then play, as that falls under the “Pay for Play” umbrella.

I CAN’T BELIEVE GUMBY CAN’T DO BETTER THAN A BUNCH OF THREE STARS. PROBABLY BECAUSE HE NEVER THROWS TO THE TIGHT END.

I CANT BELIEVE OSU HIRED A GUY ILLEGALLY!! AND IS ALSO ALLOWING HIM TO RECRUIT!!

This would be interesting if it’s true. Source?

As a non-lawyer, I’m pretty sure even I could win the first lawsuit filed by a walk-on/non-scholarship athlete who is denied NIL perks.

Everything I am reading online says there is NOTHING stopping athletes getting paid NIL in lieu of an actual scholarship. The only limitation is $$$ and jersey numbers.

Again, there is some nuance to it. Im no lawyer either and my NIL knowledge comes from dealing with the player and the university. For me to simply state that you HAVE to be a scholarship player is not 100% accurate. There are benchmarks that have to be met per the NCAA clearinghouse that pertain to when you qualify to make NIL money and the entity with which you make it from. In order to utilize the university’s trademark/logo, you have to be on scholarship. Its a grey area
