No Cowboys Included on Preseason All-Big 12 Team

With as chaotic as last year’s Big 12 Preseason Poll was, there won’t be an official preseason poll for the league in 2025, but the conference did release some individual preseason honors on Monday. There were no Oklahoma State players to make the Preseason All-Big 12 team, as the Cowboys joined Arizona, Houston and UCF as schools without representatives. With all the roster turnover (and the stinker that was the 2024 season), it was always going to be difficult for the Cowboys to get someone on this squad. There is a former Poke who was honored, though, in DJ McKinney, a corner who is entering his second season at Colorado. Returning Big 12 champion Arizona State led the way with five selections, including Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Sam Leavitt. Baylor was right behind with four selections while Texas Tech and Iowa State had three apiece.
