Williams was arrested early Wednesday morning.
I will never understand how the college athletes on a scholarship can make those bad decisions to jeopardize the opportunity of the education that lies before them. Okay they are college kids. But still…
Hows it going havent seen you for every.
Not sure how its working with nil. Before very few wrestling had full rides. Wrestling only has 9 or 10 scholarships. They are boosting all scholarships now.
Sounds like he was celebrating the anniversary of his dui lol
Drinking and drugs are more popular than ever with college kids. Just ask another Cowboy who succumbed, Chance Marsteller.
I feel bad for coach Taylor. DT could have made Williams an All-American this season.
I hope Carter Young has beefed up since 2 years ago when he was too thin for the weight and not strong enough. I bet Sammy regrets hitting the portal.
Most wrestlers had full scholarships until that proposition came about forcing funding for women’s sports.
I detest NIL, but at least most of the wrestlers probably now have tuition and room and board paid for instead of books only paid for.
Probably end up at UCO…if he’s lucky. They’re rolling again. I had heard about what he did his junior year whilst at Collinsville as I have a gym friend whose son was on C-ville’s team and if you hadn’t heard: Jordan and some other kids were drinking and he posted a video of it on Instagram. Said it was Jordan who was the ringleader. So this 2nd arrest isn’t his second time he’s had issues w/ alky. Anyway, school reported it to OSSAA which forfeited the team from state duals. He then transferred to Owasso for his senior season and lost to one of the Ferraris in the finals.
Gym friend’s son was on that C-ville team, and correctly said Jordan would probably get in trouble at oSu…
Here’s a nice article on Marsteller: Chance Marsteller overcame addiction to make wrestling worlds - NBC Sports
Dismissal was the right thing to do but I really liked watching that kid wrestle. Dang it….
Me as well, that kid had some over the top moves. Hate that he doesn’t appreciate what he has in terms of skill and opportunity
I have just been too busy with life to play on here.
