STILLWATER — Oklahoma State fans can finally begin preparations for the first year of the Eric Morris era. On Wednesday morning the Big 12 announced the conference schedule for the 2026 football slate. In 2025, the Cowboys’ signature games largely took place on the road. Given the state of the team, those games weren’t so much fun to watch so that might not have been such a bad thing. This year Oklahoma State’s best games should come at home, meaning Morris and company will likely have the attention of the country at least once or twice next fall. However, perhaps the most important piece of information revealed on Wednesday was the date of America’s Greatest Homecoming. That is set for Oct. 24 when the Cowboys welcome Colorado. Considering the game falls as the lone home competition during a month-long road trip to Houston (Oct. 17), Iowa State (Oct. 31) and Kansas State (Nov. 7) it should be especially meaningful. The Buffaloes are also coming off a disappointing season that saw them finish 3-9 (1-8 Big 12) including three losses by as much as 25 points in their final five games. At first glance, it seems that the schedule is mostly back loaded, which for a team with so many new faces is probably a good thing. Also, looks like we’re back to only having one bye week (BOO!) which comes after our 4th game.

Sept. 19: vs Murray State-W
Sept. 26: At West Virginia-TOSS UP
Oct. 10: vs UCF-W
Oct. 17: At Houston-TOSS UP
Oct. 24: vs Colorado-W

Nov. 14: vs Texas Tech-L
Nov. 21: At Arizona State-TOSS UP
Nov. 28: vs Kansas-W
6 W’s. 2 L’s. 4 TOSS UP’s. I said the day Morris was hired that they would win 7 or 8. I love that prediction.
A floor of 6 wins and a ceiling of 10. Sign me up ![]()
Of the four games you have marked as toss ups, I’d be inclined to move Houston, Kansas State, and Arizona State into the loss category.
That Big 12 opener at West Virginia could be a good barometer of how OSU does in conference play because I think the Mountaineers are going to be sneaky good.
That was my prediction too. Games we should win, toss up’s , the sure L’s , maybe we can pull a giant V upset in there. Good schedule for Morris to cut his teeth in the B12
See, im more inclined to put the KState and ASU games in the W category. KState is in the exact same spot as the Cowboys as far as rebuilding goes, but I really like what OSU has brought in VS what KState has. Klein is a good hire, but hes unproven. There will some growing pains at some point in Manhattan
8-9 wins here, baby! Mark it down!!
GO POKES!!!
