Could he have been offered money either by the school or NIL?

There are “kinda” offers and there are REAL offers. This is an easy one to figure out. He was given a legitimate scholarship offer by OSU and he took it. He hasnt been given that by some of the listed “offers” in the post. Recruiting is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. This kid has no idea who his coach will be. No idea who his coordinator will be. No idea who his position coach will be. Hes just making sure hes got a safety net.
Singular games matter very little to recruits. Recruiting a kid takes place over the course of many months, in most cases years. You have camps that these kids attend the summer before their Soph yr of HS. There are some very, very late additions to a class, but those are the very rare exception to the rule.
Not really these days.
If I’m 18, I don’t care about anything but the $$. Why would you? You can always put out tape and transfer year 2 with more money in his pocket than most OSU graduates will have made that year. Why in the world SHOULD he care about coach stability? This is exactly why we fired Gundy. Would you turn down more money you’ve made in your entire life because they might switch managers?
