Oklahoma State Lands Utah State Tight End Will Monney

Monney follows tight ends coach DJ Tialavea from Utah State.

Great recruiting job here. Totally swayed him. Reportedly his first words after stepping on campus and hearing of an 0-9 season was “Who’s the fella that owns this s***hole?”

Now he’s committed. Gotta love that we have a William Monney on campus.

Merry Christmas.

Awesome movie

How many tight ends do we need? I count at least 5 still on the roster, plus 3 more coming from the portal??

I was thinking the same thing. We must be moving towards a more TE oriented scheme. I thought Josh Ford played well as a true freshman. Also note that these TEs are in the 230 range as opposed to closer to 250. Not sure if they want them as more receiver types or just need some time in the Glass factory.

Inquiring minds want to know !

We haven’t done squat with the tight end position since Brandon Pettigrew was here in the early 2000s. I hope Meachum will make a commitment to involve them in the passing game instead of just using them as run blockers and pass protectors.

Sounds to me like a certain coach wants to copy the same schemes Matt Campbell is using :man_shrugging:.

Looks like we won’t be throwing deep much. If they can make a two TE set workin a hurry up offense, this could be fun, but they are usually TEs because they don’t have blinding speed.

Shettron has some speed, don’t know who else does

Need a QB that can get the ball to him.
