- Whatâs your opinion of starting extra innings with a runner on 2B?
Banning the shift: I love that theyâre banning it. BUT I HATE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE TO BAN IT DUE TO GUYS REFUSING TO HIT THE BALL THE OTHER WAY.
I hate the extra innings deal. I get it because they wanna speed up the game. But Iâm old school. I hate the electronic pitch calling. I hate the fact that no one holds runners. I hate the fact that no one will take a bag. I hate that no one shortens a swing with 2 strikes. Striking out used to be embarrassing. NowâŚâŚno one cares.

Yep. I hate it. Which conversely, is why I love how OU is doing thingâs baseball wise. Reggie is a great dude. Small town Oklahoma boy. Still lives in Ft Cobb & sales cattle. They run. Small ball you. Move guys around. Steal bags. You can hate OUâŚâŚbut a baseball purist LOVES the way they play
Frankly, at least for me, the fans have more to do with hating OU than the teams do.
I wonât disagree on OU fans. But in my experience, my fellow Sooner fans worst comes to light when we lose. They wanna fire everybody. Itâs always the coaches and/or the QB. The worst butt whippin I ever saw was in a restroom in Arrowhead. 2 OU fans went at it inside the restroom after the 35-7 loss to KState back in 03. When OU losesâŚâŚ.the fan base goes nuts. But @bruce4 I gotta tell youâŚâŚyour Cowboys fan base has gotten hard to handle too. When OU losesâŚâŚitâs bad. When OSU WINSâŚâŚtheyâre hard to handle. This forum has shown a little of it. Robert Allen & John Holcomb are massive homers who are incapable of being anything less than homers. I see a lot more annoying Cowboy fans in the last 10-15 years than ever before.
For me personally
LSU: Aggressive. Mouthy. Try to fight you. It didnât matter if there were women and children aroundâŚâŚyou were gonna get surrounded, mfâd & chanted at by the masses.
A&M: âNext Yearâs Our Yearâ. They are the most annoying, clueless, non-realistic, short-sighted fanbase in history. But, you really only have to deal with them until Oct. After that, reality kicks them in the teeth. Every. Single. Year.
Nebraska: Most classy fans Iâve ever come across. Respectful. Hospitable. Iâve gone to 2 OU-Neb games in Lincoln & they clapped as OU came onto the field each time. KState is pretty similar
Bama: Actually pretty good fans too. Have never had an issue with em
Ole Miss: Poor manâs version of LSU fans. In Omaha, they were brutal. Idiots. Throwing beer. Very much like Texas Tech.
Texas: Just like OU fans. Carbon copy.

In the 80âs we played Nebraska close in stillwater,(could have won with a better quarterback) as the Nebraska fans left the stadium they broke windows in buildings and cars and screamed cus words all the way out.
Really?!?! Thatâs shocking to me. Never have heard that before.
We were there on a interview. The guy and his wife invited me and my wife to the game and fed us steaks afterwards then offered us the job. All he could talk about was âwhy are they mad, they won and always doâ
All my wife and I could think about is why isnât he asking us anything.
Well cowboy fans misbehaving may be a thing these days and I suspect that every school has âthoseâ type of fans. Back when I went to school, which was a long time ago, I never saw that as being a problem, could be different now as several decades have gone by and people change. The one constant through the years is OU fans, a good chunk of them anyway, have always been obnoxious ass holes. Not that I care, they are welcome to do what they want, no skin off my back.

I grew up a zerOU fan and actually did my first semester there and didnât like it at all. If youâre SERIOUSLY into the Greek life then abNorman is the place for you. People donât go to uni just for the social life but you do make a lot of good friends in college. I made some really good friends at Ok State that I would have never met if I stayed at Obnoxious U.
