Walton has been the Cowboys’ pitching coach for the past 13 seasons.
I think his departure will please some fans.
The only thing I questioned about Walton was that I thought he tended to not yank pitchers soon enough when they were struggling. He recruited and developed some good ones. Does Tom Holliday want to come down from the booth? He was good enough as a pitching coach under Gary Ward and later for Texas. Probably too old by now.
Saved Holliday’s job for a while. Nothing personal, strictly business. Thanks for all your contributions, Coach!
Not sure why Cowboy baseball had an off season this year. They sometimes get off to a slow start but rally late. But not so this season.
T.H. out of the broadcast booth to pitching coach?
You kid right?
Why not as an “advisor”? Personally I thought Josh should’ve hired his uncle (Dave) as hitting coach, that guy’s really good at it.
Holliday was pitching coach under Gary Ward, and when fired from OSU became pitching coach for Texas. But too old to return to action.
