Once unknown, Hawkins is now a preseason All-American.

“I grew up here,” Hawkins said in February. “This is my dream school. I was wanting to go here since I was little. Grew up watching people in Boone Pickens, all the greats, all the wonderful people that have came out of here.” — Crazy oSu didn’t even offer him. Heard they looked at him as an LB.

Well I look at that this way: Had he been successfully recruited to OSU, he might have hit the portal and would be somewhere else now

Well, UNT is the only D1 school that did, so good on them.
