You said we got one five star in football and he was a bust so aging that’s gundy recruiting bad.:man_shrugging:

Boyton’s 5 star was not a bust he was the number one pick in the draft if you want to compare.

I’m glad that number one pick put all those trophies up for us

I’m going to go to the program that will take me seriously, and takes winning championships seriously regardless of location.

I’d like Gundy to recruit 4 & 5 stars so we can get another conference title. Since we like to brag about Gundy doing so well with mainly three stars then he should be able to get several conference titles getting 4 stars. Wouldn’t you agree? Or will it be someone else’s fault if that doesn’t happen?

A lot of schools like North Texas.

Recruiting and talent evaluation have never been less important. Those things still matter but they matter less. Whoever wins the transfer portal will win championships. We got raided this past year because other schools’ alumni (Ohio State, LSU, etc.) outbid ours. I hope there is stuff going on behind the scenes that I am not rich enough to know about, because from my perspective, it seems like we are getting left in the dust.

Some of that cannot be helped. We do not have near as many wealthy and football focused alumni as some schools. However, we can be smart with what we have. Retaining our talent should be priority #1. Raiding the competition should be priority #2. Signing high school talent should be a distant third.

I’m sure joe

I mean….if we want to be serious here we got outbid by Sam Houston State too. Oklahoma State football is currently in a position where we have to raid the best talent from G5 schools and get 4 star transfers in from other BB schools (or close to it) that aren’t getting much playing time. Now whether we take advantage of that or not is up to question (worked out well with Warren).

Had we recruited better when given the chance before NIL I’m not so sure we find ourselves in this position. Those saying we can’t get high caliber recruits based on our location are also the same ones that that talk about all the winning we’ve done (Seems a little contradictory, right?).

Which doesn’t make much sense. I would think with all this winning our geographical location would not be the only factor on getting in on better recruits before NIL. It’s a pretty simple explanation. Gundy couldn’t recruit before NIL, and I doubt he does any better during NIL. Arkansas is getting players from OU while we’re losing what we have to Sam Houston State🤷‍♂️.

Joy your like grand pa. As the days go by you can remember to pull your pants up.

Holmes was a transfer
Tanner. Matrin. It was just warren.
We got 3 all american juco kid with 3 transfers see how they do.

The kid at tosu got burned 3 times for td in the last game.
The lsu kid was always targeted. These guys arent even our best.

Why r you going on about jackson. He went there in shame.

You go on about recruiting lsu and tosu wanted what we developed. Nebraska was happy to get our back up.

I dnt know everthing but when you rite i look like a genius. Stop trying to prove stuff.

That wasn’t the point dummy. Once again you fail to understand the context of a post. That’s exactly what I said!!! We have to rely on getting transfers from blue bloods that don’t hardly get on the field, and the better players from G5 (JUCO included). Because Gundy can rarely get more than 1-2 four star recruits or better to come to OSU and have them developed HERE.

Holmes came from Clemson. Do you really think Gundy was trying to target him during his recruitment? We don’t recruit well. We have to rely on other schools sending us players to try and make up for how bad our recruiting is. Why do you think we can’t hardly beat OU (or Baylor now) and can’t win another conference title?

If you’re admitting that we have starters or players that got significant playing time on defense, and claim they aren’t our best then that just tells me we need better recruiting.

Your not making any point. When was the last time we got a player from a blue blood. You dnt even know where we get players. Holmes came from mizzu. Warren had ok numbers from utah state. Dnt give me this load of crap your try to make fly. We are developing the best kids.

You’re right. I was thinking of Baker. I agree with you though. We’re in a bad spot then if we can’t even get the players the blue bloods don’t want.

So let me get this straight. According to you we do a great job of developing players, and at the same time you talk trash about how they got burned and aren’t any good? Do you see where you aren’t making any sense here?

I was down grade them as giving a really look.

You bought into knowles. He did great schemes. But, failed in alot of area. Was not a great recruiter. The back 5 werent coached that well. I hope mason gets the backs able to get pics.
Im worried about our lb being in the rite placr. That it. I feel what we lost will be replaced. Back up corners is a small question.

Who is baker.

You’ve bought into the development of our players, and at the same time say they suck?

Maybe replaced, but maybe not as productive. Those are two very specific differences. You’re trying to small play it here.

He was a transfer from Clemson that played corner here.
