Oklahoma State Signs Mike Gundy to New Perpetual Five-Year Deal

Joey I understand more about this then u.
U chose to be a hater.

If you understood then you would take the orange shades off and actually be realistic. I’m going to assume since you didn’t answer the post with anything substantial you’ve understood where I’m getting at.

Back at u. As bad as 2018 was we less then 15 points a way from the title game and same with last year.
We are in it rite now. Where has tcu ksu Baylor been.
When we win tomorrow isu is out. Even if some how we lose we are still in it

Your assuming we are just going to win every game left on the schedule (besides maybe OU) and be in it.

I didn’t say anything about the 2018 team either. But since you want to bring it up we lost by 19 to K State and 24 to Tech. We were more than 15 points away.

It didn’t matter about those two games in 2018. If Knowles would have got those guys to make one play in the other 4 games. Or the kicker to help out.
We would have been in the title game.
It’s not like Baylor last year or any of the tcu years.
Go back and replace those 4 lose with wins. And loses to the other teams.
Just like u r harping on the offense I’m not asking for 35 points a game I’m asking for for like 5 plays

If Sanders go down how confident are u with shane

You’re blaming stuff on Knowles when the fact is we lost 6 games and regardless we would’ve never made it.

Believe what u want. I do know that there were games we didn’t have a defender on onside of the field.
But u don’t want to check it out fine. Then stop crying

Not as confident as I am with Spencer.

Accuracy: Shane
Getting the ball out of his hand quicker: Spencer
Reading a defense: maybe Spencer but not much
Speed on run: Spencer

When plays break down, Spencer gives us the best chance at continuing to move the ball and score points. I don’t trust Shane if he has no time in the pocket. He’s a statue.

With the game on the line tomorrow, I’d roll with Spencer Sanders.

No, I didn’t. But I’ll guarantee you that there’s zero chance they said that they play harder and give better effort. None at all.

I think it had to do with being content with mediocre.

In the business world new contracts have clauses that offer incentives for achievement. You bring in more money you get a bonus. I would like to see Gundy’s new contracts tied to specific achievements such as playing in the Big 12 championship, winning the Big 12 championship, beating OU, playing in the college playoffs, winning 12 games. Don’t give a guy a lot more money for something he has already, give him money for doing the things you expect a great coach to do for your school.
And if he can’t reach those goals, then go out and get yourself a coach who is great. OSU has been so bad or mediocre for so long and what Gundy has done does look like he performs miracles compared to how bad OSU football has been before him most seasons. That means he has earned whatever he was paying being paid. So if you want to make him do better things, then dangle that carrot in front of him. The ADs have this fear based attitude that if you see some success from a coach then you better throw bigger money at him or else you will lose him. That suggests that the AD doesn’t have the confidence that he can lure a better coach to Stillwater. Players are held accountable for performance. Head coaches should also be held accountable. Give Kasey done one more season next year when he hopefully has a healthy O line to see if he can do any better than he has been doing. I can’t judge him accurately based on the injuries the past two seasons. So I give him a pass.

It must they gave 2 mill raise the the bb coach

Is that how they did the bb coach. I think they gave him 2mill because he did what 34 other coaches do every year and win 1 game in the dance

No chance. It has nothing to do with OU leaving the Conf. It’s because of two reasons 1) Recruiting: You can tell every potential recruit that ā€œI will be here the entire time you are. I’m the only HC you’ll play for. My contract is for 5 more yearsā€. It’s a massive, massive thing for recruits. The stability is there even if Gundy name pops up for a vacancy at another school. 2) Last year Gundy took a pay cut after the Hubbard/OAN debacle. This was a way to make up for that loss last year.

There is no correlation between OU leaving, nor do I even know what the hell that’d even matter?

Okay…new President and new AD know that with OU leaving, it becomes MUCH MUCH MUCH easier for the Pokes to win the conference and get an NY6 Bowl or playoff spot. How many conference titles would Oklahoma State have if OU had left when Nebraska and Mizzou did? Can’t believe I had to spell that out to an OU fan.

Not just ou leaving I think he meant the realignment.
It’s ot all about ou.
Yes it was to say gundy is here through to the new league

ā€œDid this new contract have anything to do with the fact that OU is leaving the conference?ā€

Dude @robert28 ……this is exactly what he said. He specifically said OU.

If OU and Texas stay, it forces the leadership to ask if they truly want to see Gundy in charge for that long continuing to finish 3rd or worse and NOT winning Bedlam.

How many years did Gundy beat everybody except OU?
