Entering the Big 12 tournament, a pair of Cowboy pitchers have earned all-conference honors. Harrison Bodendorf was named Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-Big 12 First Team. Sean Youngerman earned two All-Big 12 Second Team selections — one as a starting pitcher and one as a relief pitcher. Colin Brueggemann, Ian Daugherty, Mario Pesca, Nolan Schubart and Brayden Smith each earned All-Big 12 honorable mentions. A lefty transfer from Hawaii, Bodendorf has a 2.43 ERA with a team-high 96 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings pitched this season. The Cowboys have won the past four games Bodendorf has pitched in, which has helped the Pokes climb back into the NCAA Tournament discussion. Most recently, Bodendorf threw seven innings against Arizona State this past weekend, where he gave up a lone run on five hits while striking out eight Sun Devils. In his past three outings combined, Bodendorf has pitched 21 innings and allowed two runs off 14 hits while walking five and striking out 22.
