OSU Baseball: Cowboys Out of Tuscaloosa Regional after 11-Inning Thriller against Alabama

The Cowboys’ season ends in Tuscaloosa.

I give the team a lot of credit for fighting.

You just can’t lose the first game to SC Upstate.

Josh has only advanced to a Super Regional once in the past ten seasons. Weiberg needs to make a change NOW! Fans are waiting. We have a new stadium and great fan support. OSU baseball can do much better.

Once in the last 10 seasons? That sounds a lot like Gundy only winning one NY6 bowl since 2011.

So, is the problem with the Head Coach or is the problem with no NIL money to spend to get top quality pitchers (which is the name of the game in baseball)? If its NIL, spending money on paying off Josh and bringing in a new coach and staff is not going to help. At least Josh is loyal and true and he may be able to work wonders if he had enough talent needed to compete.

Josh had 14 seasons to build a nationally competitive program. Mostly before NIL was an issue. Boosters didn’t support $ Gundy because they had little faith in him. Could very well be the issue with Holliday if funds aren’t flowing. I’m sure we have more funds that Upstate South Carolina (beat us) and less than Ohio State ( no tourney), results are inverse correlation to available funds. Josh simply isn’t a good coach as proven by his game management. We don’t need to agree. I grew up with Ward and feel the potential is there to do considerably better, even with available resources.

I also grew up with Gary Ward. It would be great to find someone like him again. Cocky, confident, driven - in a good way, of course. Other teams used to fear playing OSU. Sadly, that is not the case now.
