PORTAL TRACKER While the ability to attract his best former players wasn’t the No. 1 reason OSU brought in Eric Morris, it is a benefit that crossed the mind of many a Cowboy fan once he was hired. That notion came to fruition this weekend. It started with Morris landing his franchise QB in Drew Mestemaker on Saturday, and it was followed by a slew of subsequent dominos falling throughout Sunday. There are potentially more UNT transfers to come, but let’s take a look at which former Mean Greens followed their quarterback to Stillwater. Caleb Hawkins | RB | Sophomore in 2026 Hawkins, a Shawnee native, returns to his home state with three years of eligibility. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound freshman was a second team All-American after leading the American Conference and ranking (as of writing) sixth in the FBS in rushing. On3, 247Sports and ESPN all ranked Hawkins as the No. 2 running back in the portal. Quinton Hammonds | S | Junior in 2026 Hammonds fills a crucial hole in the Cowboys’ secondary. In the last two years at UNT, he 105 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, a sack and three interceptions. Hammonds started 10 games for the…

Can’t wait to suck for the pleasure of dipshit bill18 & company. We will not be good with this clown show d2 transfer portal, but we can pretend it will be better than 20 years of success.

It’s been a few years since players believed intheir coaches in the Oklahoma State football locker room. Nice to see players whom believe in Morris. Im sorry, but the projection of 3.5 million dollars to a qb in college is ridiculous. for one silly year. this pay to play model is broken, someone please develop standard contracts and simmer down these athletes whom are looking for pro money. Not even interested in justifications of market sharing or other relevant points really, with everything else being paid for, including their ability to be on tv. if they were offsetting all of that cost with their 3.5 mills, maybe.

I wish Morris success, i really do, I just hate the concept of Merc ball. they only care about money. the rest of what made this sport amazing gets flushed because talent = $ and greed is real.

Go Pokes, but dang man…

Agree with Dorian on the state of college football - it makes me want to puke.

Also, based on the entire coaching staff getting promoted from North Texas, and half of the team, it only seems fitting that we change school colors from orange to green.

This is how I feel. Not sure I’m going to keep watching.

Each day that goes by makes my eyes roll more than the day before.

Think about it: how ridiculously insane is it now just thinking back 1 year, 2 years, 3 years when we had a coach who had been here over 20 years and was a QB himself who literally couldn’t even decide which QB was the best one to put on the field, so he divvied up the snaps among 2 or 3 guys to have in-game tryouts to help figure it out??? And thought it was NORMAL to do that?

…And hated NIL and portal so bad he essentially tried to just not play that game and ignore the reality of the world so bad he drove the program into the freaking ground.

We’ve already come a million miles with this change. At least we’ve joined the land of the sane.

I have no idea how good we will be next year, but it’s interesting to me to contrast player attitudes towards Gundy and Morris. On the one hand, you’ve got the entire UNT team wanting to follow Morris to Stillwater and play for him, on the other hand, you heard nothing from players after Gundy was fired. It’s almost like they didn’t really care if he was there or not. It’s pretty well known that Gundy was not really into developing relationships with his players–he was distant and aloof. When guys transferred out, they often said that Gundy never even spoke to them or tried to persuade them to stay. It will be refreshing having an HC that players actually like and want to play for.

Or you could potentially be the next Indiana where your former best players follow you, and you make the CFP and possibly win the conference. It’s not like the Big 12 talent is as good as it was. Like having Texas and OU to compete against you dipshit. It’s better than being the next Kansas of old which is what Pat Jones 2.0 was giving you. Stop being an illogical moron.

It’s going to be an interesting year next year in the B12. Matt Campbell, Chris Klieman and Whittingham leaving will impact those programs all of which are at least in the top half of the B12.

I agree, loved college football above all other sports because of loyalty and tradition. I blame P2 and ESPN for this structure and have lost most of my interest. Pretty much focus on B12 now but don’t schedule my time around games anymore. I hope some sort of reasonableness comes to the sport but not holding my breath.

You cannot be serious. Everyone loved HCMG when he cared - he basically tinkled down his leg and cashed checks (fraud) the past five years or so…

Does oSu need more P4 players? ABSOLUTELY! Perhaps the two best DL on North Texas but supplement that with p4 or elite Juco. Please go to Florida and get players!!! Color me concerned.

See how HCEM finishes up…
