OSU military tribute

Remember

Some of you may just remember us loudly singing running songs around the dorms at stupid early times (yes, that was on purpose) but OSU has a long and storied military tradition. Producing generations of military service members means we’ve lost quite a few. My friends and I have talked about building a proper monument to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Today we remember the 10, which I was on campus to hear of. Also on this day in 2004 Lt Luke James lost his life in Iraq. He was a good man, a great mentor, a husband, a father. He’s laid to rest in the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. In two weeks my son will be born, with Molly’s blessing he will carry the name Luke James and hear of a Cowboy who was eternally loyal and true to our country.

I was good friends with Luke through 4H and in college. He was a special young man. God bless him and his family.
