SERGIO! SERGIO! Dang that guy can wrestle! I have to say that the Cowboys are Brock Hardy kryptonite because Tagen has beaten him twice as well. Glad to see Casey execute and get that great win. That has to help out with his confidence and show him he can get those takedowns. Troy started everything off right, Cody won the duel for us with some tough riding. And Konner really had to put up with some late antic home town officiating for state home boy Ziola. They were trying to give that kid the consolation win with those holding hands calls. Landon has nothing to hang his head about. He fought super hard and valiantly. He’s gonna get Antrell next time. Go Pokes!
Also, just gonna throw this out there: for anyone who wants to see some of the future of Cowboy wrestling, go watch the Iron Man from a couple weekends back and the Beast from the East this weekend. Great stuff from the Raneys, Luke Hamiti, Ignacio Villasenior and Michael White at the Iron Man and Tanner Hodgins at the Beast of the East. Great stuff. My favorites were seeing Michael White blaze through the 3rd, 4th and 5th ranked guys at 190 and Jordyn Raney’s match against DeKraker.

Oh and also forgot, the first weekend of December DreShaun Ross totally conquered the Dan Gable tournament at heaveyweight. Cowboy wrestling future looks awfully bright!

I saw almost all of those except for Tanner Hodgins. What weight does he wrestle?
He wrestles at 190 and is a junior out of New Jersey. He had a pretty good tournament until the semifinals and he faced a guy who was just way more aggressive than he was. He’s got a lot of skill and grit to do what he did at U17 in freestyle this summer (he lost the first match to the guy who would win silver and then wrestled all the way back to get bronze). But he has some room to improve.
