Lockett’s gas tank just continues to look like it’s on fumes. Is it due to an illness, stress, or fatigue? The dual vs UNI was when it was noticeable, gassed really bad in the third. Against Caliendo it seemed he was gassing earlier than that, on his knees for far too long, seeking the edge of the mat after a number of stoppages. Best wishes to LaDarion going forward, he can win it all this season, but he also could not even reach All-American status with the close matches.

I’ve been in awe of Sergio Vega all season. Yesterday I compared him to a grand master playing a street hustler. His opponents come out looking fast and dominant (Hardy and Echemendia off the top of my head) but he’s two to three moves ahead ready to checkmate. His development will be fun to watch over the next few years.

Lockett needed to lose for motivation moving forward. He’s got fall and tech fall talent and has been holding back for low scoring decisions. DT called him out after UNI and it looked like he heard his coach after Iowa State but he’s fallen off again since then.

Incredible dual. I was on my feet from 125-HWT.

The whole team showed up outside of Lockett - he’ll learn. Also, I hope Ryder can get back his conditioning before XII.
