Unfortunately, it went as I predicted. My main concern was getting out of there without any injuries. I thought Plott would lose bc of how close Ferrari wrestled Starocci. The Ferraris are arrogant jerks, but great on the mat. In a few years we beat Iowa and then keep beating them with the talent we have coming in. On paper, based on rankings, we looked to be the underdog. But a great dual season regardless. Not sure why Sakamoto was thrown in there. Maybe bc Reece had no chance to win, so see what Rin might look like next season. Rin vs. a then healthy Cael Hughes. Who repaces Carter Young? He can’t get it done.

I will have to say it kinda troubled me to watch Plott lose to Ferrari. I don’t mind someone who is cocky but being an arrogant ahole doesn’t make me a fan and Ferrari certainly was one at the end of the match. As for Rin all I can say is he was in way over his head but he is just a freshman so hope he can work to become better down the line.

It was an odd dual. Felt like we wrestled on our heels and the Hawks were the aggressors all night. And watching Ferrari beat Plott sucked on so many levels. Personally I didn’t think it should have gone to extra time - the stall call on Plott to even the match score was weak IMO
Refs lately calling stalling more often. Someone on their knee on the mat should be stalling.

Just remember, 157, 165, 174, and HWT this year all came from the portal. Next year’s roster as it stands right now looks pretty good as it is. The portal should fill in the holes.
