The Cowboys are unbeaten heading into their dual against Iowa.
Carter Young can’t seem to beat good competition no matter how hard he tries. Feel sorry for him. Fish ran up against a guy who seemed physically stronger. Surber gets better each match. Williams was no surprise. Last year you could tell he was going to be really good. More mature style of wrestling now from him. No more wild moves. It was worth subscribing to UFC for 3 bucks to see this match. Shane Sparks is an exciting commentator. We have 2 weak weights, 133 and 149. That’s going to cost us in tournaments.
I agree. The great commentating draws a stark contrast to the mundane slow play of Rex Holt. And Rex always has to start out with the whining about how far away he has to sit from the mat. Gets old
I wonder if Hamiti has been sick last week. He didn’t seem his energetic self and got ridden more than I have ever seen this year with him
I feel bad for Rex having to call the matches alone. The partner he had went on to get a PhD, but he contributed very little. It seemed that he frequently mainly said, “go get you a takedown”. It’s spooky that when Rex announces Cowboy baseball, his partner, the Chief, has a similar sounding voice to that of Rex’s former wrestling broadcast partner. All Chief seems to do is announce each batter’s stats, and he reads them at super sonic speed. Really amateur production. I like Hardell Moore and J. Carl Guyman. They don’t mind joking with each other. I wonder if ESPN will try to hire John Smith to provide color for NCAA tournament? Hopefully, without his beard. It was nice to see Pat Smith sitting ringside at Little Rock. Not sure why he’s not an assistant coach there. What a recruiting job Erisman has done. I too thought Hamiti didn’t seem like himself. Have to wonder what Surber would look like now if he didn’t have all those injuries last season? With the new coaching staff, this team doesn’t look at all like any of the recent Cowboy teams. Really a memorable season.
Who are the Bianchi ? brothers ? Did we recruit them ,? Both are quality wrestlers ?
I hope we have quality replacements for all we lose this year.Surber has turned it around, he must have been dealing with a lot of injuries last year
Surber has stated that his goal last year was to get one take down and then try to hold on for the rest of the match because he was in so much pain with his shoulder
