OSU Wrestling: Why New Head Coach David Taylor is Nicknamed 'Magic Man'

Taylor’s known by more than just his name.

I am excited about the hire! I sure hope they pay Coleman to stay in Stillwater as an assistant coach. He was a big part of our success this year and I know the team really likes him and what he did for them personally.

I’m with you that Coleman should have a position here. He made a world of difference this year.

I agree about Coleman, but sounds like he won’t be staying.

Is this a credible source about Colman not staying? Moving him and his family from NC to Stillwater with him probably thinking I might be the next head coach - Wow - then we turn around and hire Taylor. I like the hire but a bad look for OSU unless there are details we are not aware of. Note - with Chad Richison putting you the money (a billionaire) they will have resources to keep Scott if he wants to stay which I hope he does!!!

Chad Richison is a graduate of UCO and contributed $10 million to UCO athletics. What connection does he have to Oklahoma State if any? Simply curious, I don’t find anything about him contributing to OSU on google searches. Wait I did find something at a website called Rokfin and a post from someone “Oklahoma Wrestling” but its a pay wall so I can’t read it.

Glad to have the monetary support if it’s real.

Kevin, I am going on what Weiberg said in the press release. He indicated that this hire (Taylor) would not have happened if it wasn’t for the support and leadership of Chad Richison. I was surprised as well as I knew he was a UCO grad and schools largest donor. Reading between the lines - I would not be a bit surprised if there is an announcement in the near future that we are building the new Richison Family or Paycom Wrestling Center.
