Is that actually happening? I wouldnt mind him backing Love up in GB tbh

How about steelers trade pickett and sign Mason to a $8 million/year contract to back wilson.

Get Mase out of Pittsburgh. They have sh-t on him at every opportunity. They donā€™t deserve him. Let him go somewhere where he can fairly compete for a starting job and make a playoff run.

I donā€™t understand why everyone wants ā€œto get Mason out of Pittsburghā€? Mason Rudolph is, and has been, a free agent since we got bounced in the Wild Card round.

Heā€™s out of Pittsburgh unless he and the Steelers want him back there. And since the Steelers just got Russ Wilson on a vet min, heā€™s almost definitely gone

Now that Iā€™ve had the day to think about it I really like the signing. Iā€™m very firmly on the ā€œKenny Pickett isnā€™t a starting caliber QBā€ train, and we need someone who is. Getting Russ on a vet min is awesome. We donā€™t need him to be Mr. Unlimited, we need him to be Mr. League Average QB.

I think Arthur Smithā€™s scheme is actually really good for him (see Tannehill in Tennessee) and if he is actually terrible then it only cost us $1.21 million to find out. We paid Trubs $7 million last year

I did not realize he was already a free agent. Dummy me didnā€™t put 2 and 2 together. :joy:

As someone who does not own a Terrible Towel, I am tired of Mason getting dumped on by Pitt basically his entire career. As for Mason being a free agent @travis5266 ā€“ my understanding of the NFL rules [which could be the wrong] was that unless a player was released by their previous team, an impending free agent (like Mason) would technically not be allowed to talk to other teams before noon on Monday, March 11 and cannot sign elsewhere before 4pm Wed., March 13. However, because Wilson was released early by his previous team, he was available to talk and sign before the free agency signing period officially began. Since Pitt signed Wilson before the window opened, it effectively spurned Mason for not blindly agreeing to a deal with Pit before he could talk to other potential suitors. Basically, it means Pitt was hoping to get him cheap at the minimum rate again and as QB3. Surely, Mason showed enough last season to be a legit QB2 somewhere?

Just my 2 centsā€¦ :woman_shrugging:

I refuse to be a Steelers fan simply because Traber is one.

Lol I was coming here to post this. Itā€™ll all work out. Probably.

Kenny isnā€™t good, but I would certainly prefer to have kept Mason as our backup

I guess I donā€™t hate the return.
