PFB Picks: Predictions for Oklahoma State’s Week 6 Game against West Virginia

Predictions for the score, game MVP and OSU’s uniform combo.

How strange that people would predict Ollie as MVP.
The O-line has convinced us they cannot open running lanes. How much more proof do you need?
Ollie is playing with an injured knee.
MVP will be Stribling or Presley in spite of Bowman’s lack of talent. They would be wise to involve Shetron much more, he is their future top receiver. But then again, Dunn is the play caller. With Ollie banged up, the game is in Bowman’s hands again. Which is why I cannot pick OSU to win. I don’t blame Bowman, Gundy is responsible for picking him. This is what we get for $8 million a year?

Wrestling, golf, softball, cross-country, baseball (not likely but possible), women’s tennis, and equestrian are the sports I’ve decided to actually hold out hope for that OSU can legitimately compete for ALL the marbles in. For the professional sports (bball and of course football) - only fools believe we have even a wild puncher’s chance of competing for anything beyond the occasional stab at a conference title (and I’m not sure we’ll ever even get to that level with those 2 sports).
I have permanently taken off my orange colored glasses in those sports. It’s fools gold. The good thing is, the sports I named above still bear a lot more resemblance to true amateur collegiate athletics anyway. I can handle that.

I’m not picking us to win again unless the team we’re playing is terrible, or Dunn can prove he can score touchdowns (plural) without having to use trick plays.

WV 34 OSU 27

28-23 WVU
W-O-O combo

I picked Utah 2 weeks ago and then picked Kansas St last week. It’s difficult to determine which is worse: offense or defense. K St. rushed for 300 yards last week and WVU will again have a running QB in play…I just can’t pick OSU to win until I see something better on gameday or an opponent that OSU has superior talent advantage. I hope I’m wrong, I am going to Stilly to tailgate.
Mountaineers: 34
Cowboys 24

We are not winning this game.

He can score touchdowns without trick plays. He just has to wait till the opponent is up by 3 touchdowns and is playing their backups in the 4th quarter.

Until we change our offensive gameplan, we aren’t scoring more than 20 (sounds like 2021 for some reason), and given a mobile QB on the opposite sideline, we likely aren’t holding them to under 20. Not a good recipe for a victory.

I think we somehow find 20+ points. Unfortunately, I think West Virginia finds a lot more and exorcises some major orange demons in this one. 45-24 Moonshiners. This season is cooked.

OSU averaged 31.1 per game, you sure you got the right year?

They look like the 2014 team right now. A team that absolutely can’t run the ball and can’t find a QB.

My bad. 2022 when the wheels fell off because Dunn’s offense sucks donkey balls if you don’t have a mobile runner back there.

The year we played Dominic Richardson over OG because OG wasn’t “ready”. Then, the very next season, DR can’t hardly get on the field for Baylor while OG becomes the best running back in the country :man_shrugging:.

Anyone would be foolish to have ever thought we will be competitive for anything more than an at large bid in the playoff with a first round loss every now and then. OSU doesnt have the money or talent, and never will, to compete for anything more than a big 12 title every once in a while. All Pickens did was buy us 9 and 10 win seasons at best. His gift took us from being the big 12 door mat to being to being an above avg+ team. We cant draw big enough talent to jump us up to the next tier of schools…regardless of who our coach is.

We won 10 games with this same exact team last season. We currently have the talent. All our offensive coaches are in the top 15 nationally as far as compensation is concerned. Now coaching….that’s currently what we don’t have.

You’re never going to get anywhere close to being a top 15 school when your coaching staff is trying to resurrect the 2014 OSU football team with a roster that should be able to win the conference. We need to learn how to not rely on the stupidity of the opposing coaching staff to get a win.

There is only one excuse for OSU to not be competing for conference championships, particularly with OU and UT gone. Noone left in the conference has a significant money or recruiting advantage. Now a lot of the schools have a significant sideline advantage. But we have 3 future NFLers on defense (Martin, Black, Rucker), and a future NFLer at RB and potentially 2 at WR. Our problem isn’t a lack of talent. And its not a lack of experience. Which leaves the only remaining excuse for our problems is a lack of coaching.

Yep, forced to rely on the stupidity of the opposing coaching staff, and the errors of the opposing players. The Arkansas game was a perfect example of this.

Exactly right. Lack sufficient talent.
