I’m going with 7-5. I think the offense will be fine. Defense has too many questions.

Based on the schedule I’d say 8-4 wouldn’t surprise me. I think there will be a game maybe we shouldn’t have lost, and we win a game we shouldn’t have won. So I’ll say the 7-5 to 8-4 range, barring any significant injuries. Curious to see how the OL holds up.

Offensive MVP
Chris Barnes is ready to break out and put up big numbers. Got comfortable at the end of Spring and takes another step this Fall. Could we see him on ST - use the first man’s momentum to make him miss and FLY through the crease. Really thought about choosing a dark horse fav - Terrence Lewis.
Defensive MVP
Mose Philipps becomes The Enforcer. Coaches son, thrived in a similar system at VT, not afraid to Lay the Wood and guess what, this system gives safeties freedom to make plays. Envisioning MM hitting that Stanford TE in the flat and watching his helmet fly. The Enforcer!
Newcomer of the Year (non UNT)
Braylon Rigsby. Typically if you are doing it in camp you’ll be doing it in a game (practice like you play). So many people said Braylon was doing it… Close second, Isaiah Chisholm - will give new meaning to the refrain, “mind the gap”!
Record
Only one team will have an advantage at qb - as CC said, don’t play many of the best defenses from last year - 2 teams have new coaches; one of those just lost two from their OL and the other got a very late start on recruiting - two of the better teams have a huge game the prior week (WVU plays their nemesis Virginia) - Cassity (most of the coaches actually) is young, energetic, proud, and pushing to make a name (hungry), even the older players from other P4 teams are excited about his teaching and scheme - can see only 2 clear losses, onlevel or above every other team on schedule. 9 - 3 with typical qualifications about injuries, etc.

Predicting O/U for Mestemaker based on his 2025 totals is fascinating.
I’m going to predict and root for the under based on the hope that the run game carries a huge portion of the load. Maybe Hawkins with 1,000+ and two other guys with 300+ on the season?

Hawkins over 20 TDs? I don’t think people realize how hard that is. I’ll go with 14.
