Carson and Colby discuss another blowout loss for the Cowboys.

I’ll say this right now: Colby’s singing >>> OSUs offense because at least his singing was only for a couple of minutes.
I do agree with @CarsonCunningham that everything needs to be evaluated and a house cleaning is in order. If that means Gundy needs to step aside, then so be it.
Nardo has gotten paid about 1.5 million dollars the last 2 years plus whatever he will get if he is fired this year. More money than most of the world’s population will see in their lifetimes. The guy can afford a box of tissues when he hits the unemployment line. Boohoo. Wish I could suck at my job for that kind of money per year.
Gundy has only been forced to make changes a handful of times. He won’t if he doesn’t have to. The 5-year rollover contract has given him such an oversized ego and stubbornness about him. I don’t care what people are hearing behind the scenes, he’s going to run it back next year with the same staff if he thinks he can get away with it. He absolutely hates change and values loyalty above all else, to the detriment of the program. We were supposed to get a new OC and o-line coach two years ago. Didn’t happen. So I’ll believe it when I actually see it. He has massive control issues. It’s why he went and got a D-2 guy to run defense and why he promoted an unqualified fishing buddy from WR coach to OC.
Booing is perfectly acceptable when the product is this poor and the producers are so well paid. I honestly felt as if I was watching Bob Simmons level OSU. To have a RB go from 1700 to Nathan Simmons is just shocking. But that’s what happens when poor run-blocking and even worse schemes collide. When you can’t own the LOS on both sides, it’s an uphill battle.
Defensively, this is worse than Bill Clay’s 4-2-5 days. Didn’t ever think I’d see it. Giving up nearly 400 yards rushing to WV?! This isn’t Nebraska/OU 1984 wishbone….this was a mid Moonshiner squad that had no business doing that. Why can’t our DC load the same box that’s stopping Ollie?
If there are zero to little changes in Provo, Cowboy fans will finally realize Gundy gives zero F’s. Which he’s been saying for years to the fan base.
@CarsonCunningham Tell Colby I found my new ringtone.
Great job, gentlemen! It was worth the wait.
Hearing that throwback to Bob Simmons era reminded me of why I disliked him. When there was a crucial play he usually chose his son, Mr. Colorado Football, as RB and it went nowhere. That does resemble this current team.
We have more than an assistant coaches problem. The problem is using the same playbook for how many years now? That’s on Gundy.
I think I will start watching Emporia State instead.
Jamal Fobbs was the better back.
If we’re getting beat 38-14 on our own home field by WV, and we’re already halfway through the season. I’d suggest we most likely aren’t making a bowl game.
“can” is certainly a different question than “will” but I agree.
At this point I wouldn’t have making a bowl a priority at all this year. Our entire focus should be on fixing what is wrong and building toward next year.
Even if changes are forced, Gundy WILL NOT go hire the best coordinator available. 100 % of the problem is Gundy - recruiting, hiring coordinators, telling coordinators what the playbook is going to be.
I’ve said it before, Gundy is not going to win the conference again while at OSU. It doesn’t matter what changes are made. Gundy is not that coach. He’s had 20 years to prove himself and the one win, it took a qb he didn’t want to play and a coordinator who wouldn’t listen to him.
Which is why I keep saying a million times. The only way Gundy comes close to ever winning the conference again is if he has an excellent coordinator that can drag him there. Even then, he’ll still have one coordinator (Dunn or the equivalent) preventing him from actually winning it.
