Recapping the Cowboys’ loss to Texas Tech.
Jesus had the same problem: “A prophet is always a prophet everywhere but his own land”. Carson and Colby nail it each and every time. Seems as though Mike Gundy listened to the Pistols Firing Podcast. He ran your play book and looked much better for it.
First, I agree that Smith looked amazing, maybe the best arm since Weeden. Stribling said he thought he was last in the progression on that incredible touchdown throw. Smith looks super promising.
A couple points of disagreement. First, Alex Cate was considered a huge get for OSU and was highly-regarded as a recruit while even Weeden himself said he was sort of half-assing his way through in practice just enjoying the “college experience” after his pro baseball career ended. As it happened Cate flamed out to everyone’s surprise, and Weeden came in and was off-the-charts. Nobody saw that coming, not even Weeden.
With Rudolph, I think the coaches knew he was the future and were trying to save him from being killed playing behind what was probably the worst offensive line in OSU history. Garman deserved medals for valor just for being willing to go out and take the snap.
Jesus didn’t mail it in His last season (on earth.) He put in that work!
