If we announce a coaching change (or even if we don’t), it seems that we’re more willing to recruit better talent, especially in-state kids. If Gundy announces his retirement the way John Smith did, what effect does that have on the commits we have to date???
Good Show as always. One item that just stopped me cold - the Kendall Daniel’s comments re: OU and the difference in defensive practice. Viewing last year - KD was one of the worst fall offs in effort i’ve seen. So much so, in fact, that during the ‘24 season - my whole family would refer to the “Kendall Daniel’s Escort” as you watched yet another opposing receiver take one to the house, followed not-so-closely behind by KD who seemed to make no effort for a tackle, or even to overtake….just an escort 4 yards behind, usually into the end zone….slow jog, dreads flopping in the wind. It was unbelievable to watch! In any event - to hear he’s made these comments is not surprising. Perhaps Nardo couldn’t coach much out of him, and so far the admittedly small sample size of “3rd and Grantham” seems like things haven’t got much better (Bryan McCoy aside). If i’m not mistaken, Mason Cobb made similar on-camera remarks about OSU practices vs. USC. Sitting on the wrong side of 69-3, the on field product seem to verify the sentiment.
