Position Group Superlatives Heading into Oklahoma State's 2025 Season

Taking a broader look at some of OSU’s position groups.

I would say QB is the biggest question mark. At least the OL has some players with experience. The QB room is about as green as you can get.

I believe the O-Line will be a breath of fresh air and they will only get better as the year goes on. I have said on numerous occasions QB will also be a breath of fresh air with Flores starting and Henjg used in run situations and or a combo of both run and pass. Defensive backfield has the potential to really good - as I hope Cam Smith is not a starter. Interested in what PistolsFiring says about our D-Line. I think we will be much better on the Ends - it’s the interior Line I am most concerned with. I believe the LB’s will also surprise. We cant worse than we were last year - that was a nightmare.

One of the most experienced O-Lines in the country last year if not the most experienced. And what fruit did they produce ? A Bunch of Rotten Apples!
Entitled, over-rated, lazy asses.
I’m putting my faith in these young hungry guys and these new eager success driven Coaches.
Give me “want to” over faux looks and experience.
FIGHT,FIGHT, FIGHT, COWPOKES!!!

We could be worse. 1991 says Hi.

It’s been a while since OK state has been down, also, the rules for players and value has changed as dramatic as it could.
If any team in the country ( besides Texas Tech ) has a shot at surprising some folks until half point of the season, it’s Ok state.
I’m of the impression the Unknown is an ally, far too many times has this team plucked a diamond from the rough. I do not expect that to change anytime soon.

I think the motivations have changed, and how they apply to OK ST.
To my knowledge, offering a paycheck to a kid fresh out of highschool to learn and practice violence on a field is a good deal. Here’s to hoping greed can just take a back seat for a few years, and let people figure out how to do this thing.

Texas Tech is projected to have their most talented team ever, was ranked #2 in the country in off-season moves by ESPN, and is in the top 3 in most big 12 polls.

Texas Tech surprising people how? I think most people Big 12 folks are sick of hearing about them and don’t believe it. I think they’ll surprise people with what a waste of money that roster was.

My thoughts exactly. They will show how impressively they can dump money into a mediocre season for the bill.

And Oklahoma State know mediocre with coach Mediocre Mike.

The reality is that we have had a complete roster overall and changed our offensive and defensive schemes. There will be growing pains. One of them will be at Oregon.

I blame the coaching mostly. Every other team knew coming into the season what Dunn and Dickey would try to do. It wasn’t any huge secret. It’s not the player’s fault the coaches take a month or longer to adjust, or possibly not at all :man_shrugging:.

I still see Meacham and Grantham as an upgrade from Dunn and Nardo. However, that’s not saying a whole lot. If we ever want a chance of winning the conference ever again. Then we better hope one of them can turn into Jim Knowles or Todd Monken.

IMO Cam Epps deserves a shoutout if the DBs are being discussed as a unit, he’s the most talented returner we have.
