Quarterback to Back: Cowboys' QB Consistency a Testament to Mike Gundy's Leadership, Coaching Cache

Gundy has had an enviable run of quarterback continuity.

Just limit the turnovers and penalties. Find ways to get the ball to Presley and Gordon in space. If you’re desperate to run OG through the thickest part of the defense at least come up with something that works. We aren’t going to survive rushing the ball for three yards per rush and putting this defense on the field to defend multiple drives.

I’m a big proponent on keeping the ball on the ground as much as possible to keep our defense off the field. That, in all honesty, is how you make the defense “fixable”. We really need to go back to a 4-2-5 concept. Nardo is in over his head so far from what I’ve seen. This is exactly why I wanted us to hire at least a good G5 DC if we weren’t going to hire from within.

Bowman was consistently inconsistent in that Ark game.

One of the biggest runs in the SD State game was when they pulled the center. I’d like to see us do more of that that, counters and misdirection plays. Just seemed like we tried to ram it down Razorpigs throat most of the time and it obviously didn’t work.

Made me think of back in 2013 when we ran Jeremy Smith through a brick wall at WV 15 times for 1 total yard. The running game got better after that. I just don’t know why it takes an entire game and overtime for a dude making a million dollars a year to finally do something different with the running game.

Keep preaching! Sometimes there’s no imagination going on. Like a billy goat who keeps ramming his brother in the head thinking something’s gonna change, like he’s gonna get a TKO, lol.
