Sure…and if all three don’t feel like the coaching staff is confident enough in their ability to lead the offense they all could hit the portal too. Is that likely? I’m not sure, but I don’t think playing musical chairs with the quarterbacks on your roster benefits the team overall, and it certainly displays a lack of preparation and decisiveness by the coaching staff.
I can promise you that a majority of the players on the offense probably have a good idea of who the guy is going forward, and there’s going to be frustration that occurs as a result of playing multiple quarterbacks. Yes…I understand they aren’t the coaches and they don’t get to make the decisions (because Bob is going to cry about that if I don’t mention it). However, I don’t want to be going on the road against a P5 team with my offense not being in any kind of rhythm or in sync.
I think Gunnar should start, he played the best of the three although that might partially be due to UCA’s defense getting worn down by the time he got in there, so put him in there at the beginning and see how he does. I was impressed by his foot speed on one of the runs, looks like he’s gotten a bit faster. His arm strength is still a little bleh. To me Bowman has the strongest arm, slightly better than Rangel’s.
If Gunnar rolls, leave him in there. I don’t think any of the three will be as impressive as Arizona State’s true freshman QB1, but that kid looks way too skinny and will eventually get hurt as a result.
Sorry but that’s a bad analysis in this situation. What Power 5 schools do you see who would be going nuts offering Gunnar and Rangel, cause this is Bowman’s last hurrah???
Duke’s head coach who ain’t making nowhere near Gumby’s 8.5 million beans. People who argue stuff like this act like there are no HC’s anywhere who would be good fits. Before he left Memphis I said I’d like Mike Norvell. GJ Kinne is a guy I’m going to watch from here on out. No connection to oSu except he played at Tulsa and Ok State is a world a lot better than Tex State. And please don’t argue, like a lot of dummies, that no one wants to come to Stilly cause it’s rural…Tuscaloosa is a huge metropolis, hah hah?
Well for starters my “analysis”, which really isn’t but just an opinion based on some stated facts made by HCMG, is based on things that HCMG has said several times in the last few weeks. Secondly this strategy if you will isn’t just for the QB’s it’s for everyone. As far as our QB’s are concerned yes Boman and Gunnar aren’t going anywhere but everyone else is at risk of leaving for somewhere where they can play, even if it means stepping down a level if need be.
As far as giving advice to players if I was a coach I would stick to saying things that I am absolutely sure of. Telling a player that they could only be a backup somewhere else is a bad idea, there are a lot of players that will take you up on that challenge even if you are right. Now if you wanted them to leave then giving that type of advice might be a ok.
