Yeah that’s been my biggest gripe with star rankings. I know it’s not an exact science, but sometimes I think they get a little lazy and give a higher ranking solely on who they’re committed to.

Hopefully, if this team has a good season, then it’ll give some momentum on the recruiting trail. Of course, we have to wait to see what they’ll get in the transfer portal.

The way players are responding to Morris, the hope is more will want to remain at oSu. Well, unless they’re encouraged to change pastures.

Also, it looks like some schools are teaching players how to handle their finances - hope if oSu is teaching they include obvious things like the grass is not always greener but significantly, when the agents cut comes out the pay may be a wash.

Seems like kids that hit all the camps they can the higher their ranking can be. Course there is no replacement for talent. True that if the goons or Texas offer the better chance of a higher rank

The interesting part is that its no longer just talent that matters. Used to be you could just look at who was recruiting a player to get a good feel for how they were viewed from a talent perspective. But now their NIL signing costs matter. Is RB A worth $500K more NIL money than RB B? Or could that 500K be better spent on a different position? And what about players who are overinflating their expected NIL value? If a kid (and agent) think he’s worth $1M, but you’re OSU and you think the kid’s a good talent but only worth $300K, do you offer him? How would that typle of circumstance influence the rankings?
